What is more refreshing than a father’s sincere love for his child?  If a poem evokes such memories for you; you  understand the important role a father can play in the formation of a child’s character.  Our world rises and falls with the integrity of our fathers. On June 21st this year we are allowed to pay tribute to that fact by publishing a poetry book on Amazon.com.

We want to honour our Fathers with the written word of your poems.
If our judges pick your poem as the Father’s Day poem for 2020 we will publish your poem in our Poetry book “Father and I” in June and you will also get a chance to win a honorarium worth $100.

 

Not to mention how pleased your father might be to read your thoughts in print!  You can present your poem as a gift and give it to him on the big day.

So get those minds to turning and those pens to writing!

RULES

  • The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over.

  • The poem must pertain to Fatherhood or related to Father.

  • Each participant can submit only one poem.

  • They must be typed and not longer than 20 lines (excluding title).

  • Entries may be submitted via submittable or you can help us to avoid processing cost by submitting your poems through email: editor@winglessdreamer.com with a minimum submission fees of USD $10 at https://www.paypal.me/winglessdreamer.

  • Poems should be in English, must be the entrant’s own work and should not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere (including online), should not have won another poetry competition or be the translated work of another poet.

  • Our judge will read all entries.

  • No person may win more than one prize, though more than one poem may feature in the list of Commended and Highly Commended poems.

  • No changes can be made to a poem once it has been submitted.

  • The decision of the judge is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • WinglessDreamer Poetry Festival Trustees, employees or associates, or members of their families, may not enter.

  • Deadline: midnight on 10th June 2020. Entries received after this time will not be considered.

  • The winner and the selected participants will be contacted via email.

Please note that submission fees of a minimum amount of USD$5 allow us to offer the winning honorarium and also to offset the cost of publishing and promoting the winning collection. Wingless Dreamer works to supporting the publication of excellent poetry, flash fiction, and short stories collection and supporting our mission to bring the highest quality literature into the world.
