T.S. Eliot's works, known for their complexity and depth, have left an indelible mark on the literary landscape. In this contest, we encourage participants to explore Eliot's themes, styles, and ideas while adding their unique voice and perspective.

From "The Waste Land" to "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," Eliot's works tackle the human condition, spirituality, societal decay, and the search for meaning. Through this contest, we invite you to delve into these themes, to challenge conventional wisdom, and to create thought-provoking pieces that honor Eliot's artistic vision.

Whether you choose to write poetry, prose, or dramatic works, we encourage experimentation and creative expression. Embrace Eliot's innovative techniques, such as his use of stream-of-consciousness, allusions, and fragmented narratives, to push the boundaries of your own writing.

A panel of esteemed judges, familiar with Eliot's literary contributions, will evaluate the entries based on their originality, depth of thought, language mastery, and adherence to Eliot's artistic spirit. The top entries will receive recognition and prizes.

Judging Criteria

  • Uniqueness – 50%

  • Creativity/Style and Originality – 30%

  • The coherence of form and structure (harmony of words, presentation) – 10%

  • Clarity of imagery and language – 10% => TOTAL – 100%

Contest guidelines:

​

  1. Entries must be entirely your own work.

  2. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age.

  3. All manuscripts should include a cover page including the title of the submission, a brief bio (max 150 words) and contact information. Writers must submit one entry per submission.

  4. The acceptable submissions must be extended with .pdf, .docx, and .doc only.

  5. The Manuscripts should be formatted in an easy-to-read font such as Times New Roman, 12pt with 1.15 line spacing.

  6. All submissions are final and no changes can be made once they have been submitted.

  7. Entries will be judged by the author and founder of Wingless Dreamer Ruchi Acharya and Suhani Harpara.

  8. Any entries found to be violent, abusive, harassing or discriminating will be disqualified and entrance fees will not be refunded.
