Freestyle Ink Fest - Open theme

Behind the scenes of judging, editing, compiling, illustrating, publishing, and promoting Freestyle Ink Fest lies a glorious mess of hard work and Post-its, late nights, sharp pencils, tired eyes, and wildly dedicated
humans. Every contributor showed up, planted their front foot firmly forward, and finished—their poems, their short stories, their brave little acts of creation. And that alone deserves applause.

Freestyle Ink Fest is a full-blown celebration of the joy a wordsmith feels while shaping a craft, the quiet love a reader searches for between pages, the courage it takes to choose an artistic life despite all odds, and the writer who quite literally breathes words for a living. Through this anthology, Wingless Dreamer cues the confetti—for the unbearable pain, the silent struggles, the “no medals for this” moments, and yes, the sheer glory of receiving that magical “Your work got published” email.

Whether or not you walk away with a winning title today, remember this: daily wins matter. You showed up. You wrote. You shared your voice. So go on—fire the firecrackers. Pour yourself a glass of wine or brew a
strong cup of coffee. Sit back, relax, and revel in the marvelous poems and short stories that make this anthology exactly what it is: a celebration of you.

Cheers.

Freestyle Ink Fest Winners crowned

Today, we do not merely, plainly, or in a mundane manner announce the winners—we celebrate voices that chose wonder over silence, took risks over safety, paid attention over haste, and chose poetry over indifference. These poems are a gentle reminder that poetry is not something we visit occasionally; it is something we live by. It lives in ordinary mornings, in our melancholic depressive state, in sudden grief, in courage, in victory and failure, basically in our breath, and in the fragile, luminous moments that make a life.

To our winners: your words stood up and insisted on being felt. Without any further ado, let's announce the winners of Freestyle Ink Fest Writing Contest.
