It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Christmas Cheerios Writing Contest 2022. As a judge for this year's competition, I am honored to be a part of an event that celebrates the spirit of the season through the power of words.

Christmas is a time of joy, reflection, and togetherness. It is a season that inspires countless stories, each filled with the warmth and magic that define this special time of year. The Christmas Cheerios Writing Contest brings together talented writers who capture these sentiments and weave them into tales that resonate with readers of all ages.

The submissions this year have been nothing short of extraordinary. Each entry reflects the unique creativity, passion, and dedication of its author. From heartwarming family traditions to fantastical adventures in winter wonderlands, the stories submitted have transported us to places where the true essence of Christmas shines brightly. SEAN O’NEILL – CHRISTMAS SONG

Sean O’Neill was born in Scotland, but has lived in the USA for the past 15 years. He has had poetry published in a variety of journals including First Things, The Ottawa Literary Review, Living Bulwark, Reformed Journal, Clay Jar Review, The Spirit Fire Review and American Literary. Sean has published 17 collections of poetry and is the author of five novels and four non-fiction books, including the bestselling “How To Write a Poem: A Beginner’s Guide.” He runs the Kolbitars Poetry Group in Lansing, Michigan, USA. SUZANNE S. EATON – EVERY SNOWFLAKE

Suzanne S. Eaton is the mother of six, grandmother of eighteen, great-grandmother of six, and author who shares her “soul carvings” on life, love, and finding JOY while taking damages. She is the recent winner of the Wingless Dreamer “Memories” poetry contest. Her writings have been published online, in magazines, and over 26 anthologies. She is a contributing author to the new book ”Making Peace With Your Pieces.”

Oliver Brooks is a student at Florida State University and the poetry editor of The Kudzu Review. SANDY JUKER – SO SOON AND ONCE AGAIN

Sandy discovered her passion for writing when she retired in 2019. She lives in the Pacific Northwest, but grew up in central Washington. This poem was written while watching the snow fall and listening to traditional Christmas music.

EMMA WELLS – FESTIVE

Emma is a mother and English teacher. She has poetry published with various literary journals and magazines. She enjoys writing flash fiction and short stories also. Her debut novel, Shelley’s Sisterhood, is due to be published in 2022.

SAHEED SUNDAY – TELEGRAPH OF A HAPPY BOY AT CHRISTMAS

Saheed Sunday, NGP V, the author of Rewrite The Stars, is a Nigerian writer and a Hilltop Creative Arts Foundation member. He was the 1st runner-up for the Nigerian Prize for Teen Authors, 2021. He has been published or forthcoming in journals and magazines including Shrapnel magazine, Rough Cut Press, Temz Review and others

JOHN MILLER – ANOTHER AUSTERITY CHRISTMAS

Norfolk England-based writer and sculptor Terry Miller honed his writing skills as a creative director for a number of advertising and creative agencies. Lately, a successful game inventor, Terry utilizes his skills to create evocative, funny, and sometimes disturbing poetry. Written in an accessible form, Terry’s poetry is deceptively complex, often tackling topical issues and exploring deep emotional issues. Terry’s poems have featured in several international poetry anthologies and sculptures in several exhibitions.

NEIL RHIND- THREE FIGURES OF SONNETY CLAUSE

Neil Rhind was doctored in Literature from Edinburgh in 2009. His work has been published in The Scottish Literary Review, The International Review of Scottish Studies, and the International Journal of Scottish Literature, and was recently anthologised in Spectral Lines: Poems About Scientists [Alternating Current Press].
