Everyday Moments Writing Contest
Dear dreamers,
Wow! What an eventful year so far. It’s such a blessing to see life coming out of adversities more than ever. I bet there’s nothing wrong to say that we’re shaping our lives. We are decorating our nest with brewing ideas, unstoppable spirit, and astronomical determination. Personally, I have gone through a series of unfortunate events and unexpected counters which brutally showed me the conscience mirror. I learnt from my mistakes and hold accountability and become a better person. Nobody’s perfect.
Guess what supported me this whole time was not some expensive crash course on lifestyle coaching, motivational tutoring, (although that’s important) or my folks. What supported me was showing up and doing everyday things. It could be washing utensils aggressively, manuring soil of my house plants, deep cleaning rigorously without hosting any house parties, segregating clothes, talking to my parents, writing on postcards and letters instead of Notes apps, slow reading books, or simply calling my friends and talk for hours. I realised this everyday things – maybe we took it for granted. It’s our healing place. It’s our safe house. The world out there is brutal and cruel but people like us still exist and that’s why it makes every struggle, every frustration, and every failure worth it. This is life indeed. We learn, leap, and move forward.
We train our mind, study our body, and meditate our soul by simply listening to our heart and letting it bloom in the safe shadows of our integral values. There’s a good in you. Don’t let your circumstances define you. Sorry, I didn’t mean to preach but being said that – I decided to host this wonderful global writing contest
called “Same Sky, Different Stories”. This was an invite to proclaim your hidden feelings and appreciate your everyday things. Being grateful and to put your writing skills and love for poetry into practice. As a result,
we receive enormous number of submissions from all around the world.
It was a pleasure reading these submissions and how these poets described the theme “Everyday things” in such an innovative and mesmerising manner. Connecting emotions and accepting your wholly self is new sexy indeed. As our dearest readers, I hope that through this book you will take away a sense of motivation, love, confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the art of living. Happy reading.
With regards,
Ruchi Acharya
