For this contest, write about an event in your life that highly moved you in the positive direction by overcoming a fear. Everyone has a memoir. It’s time to share one of your own. It should not be an autobiography. No need to bother yourself with too much detailed fact and convention. Just write one that is close to your heart. Tell us about how you overcome from your fear. If you don’t want to share your name on your request, we can certainly put you as anonymous. So, what are you waiting for? Share your story with us.

All persons from anywhere in the world are eligible; however, the material submitted must be in English.

The material submitted must not be encumbered by any obligation to, or option held by, a third party prior to entering the competition.

Any submitted work that becomes optioned, professionally adapted for the screen, or purchased between the time of submission and the end of the judging period will no longer be eligible.

The material should be submitted in PDF format, with no crazy fonts or non-standard font sizes.

Short stories of more than 500 words will not be eligible.

What scares you? It’s quite challenging to learn how to overcome fear. Whether it’s overcoming the loss of love, loss of a job, loss of respect, embarrassment, ridicule, or failure. This contest is a collection of short stories based on true events submitted by authors from all around the world. We had many courageous writers share their stories of overcoming fear with us. Each story is the narration of a personal experience of how they overcame fear. The purpose of this contest is to spread the message that everyone faces challenges and fear in their lives, but instead of running from adversity, we can learn how to fight and conquer it in order to achieve personal growth. Remember, being afraid is okay. It’s how we deal with our fear that makes us who we are. We are proud to launch this unique and diverse collection of vivid short stories from around the globe.
