July 4, 2021  |  Wingless Dreamer  |  Announcements

It’s been a keen pleasure to serve as a judge for the Wingless Dreamer Shakespeare poetry writing contest 2021, which today announces a winning list of four excellent titles.

It’s been a great pleasure to read the literary works inspired by none other than the father of literature, William Shakespeare. We received submissions from some amazing and aspiring poets from all around the globe. These literary pieces encapsulate the best of the Shakespearean world of comedy which is rife with hilarious misconceptions, misunderstandings, and deception, with men and women disguised to switch their sexual identities, and where accidents and errors mysteriously lead to comical and ultimately happy consequences. Additionally, we received submissions that gracefully depict the loss of beloved ones, nature poetry, the theme of ageing, and common men’s perception.

Winner or not, all the submissions played a significant contribution to our understanding and appreciation of the theatre of Shakespeare and his contemporaries. So well done everyone!

Now, hark! The hour draws nigh to declare the victorious bard!

The winning title of the Wingless Dreamer Shakespeare Poetry Contest and winning honorarium of $100 goes to:

SNEHIL JAIN – LOVE GOD

The first runner-up is:

The second runner-up is:
